Shopping

I bought these today.

birthday girls

Freaking out. Freaking. Out.

When I think about what I thought I’d be like as a mother — let me tell you, it didn’t include being all sentimental at $8 “Birthday Girl” shirts. And it certainly didn’t involve walking into a Carter’s outlet store and almost having sex with the first guy that walked by in order to get pregnant after seeing an adorable (ADORABLE!) teensie tiny wittle baby newborn onesie.

Every day, I see my babies looking a little bit more like little girls. Little girls who will start walking soon. Walking by themselves. Talking. Talking to themselves. Pretending. Playing. Going to school. Having a crush. Getting in trouble. (I really hope they play pranks on teachers, because what good is it being an identical twin if you don’t?)

Best friends. Back stabbing. Crying.

First kiss.

Second kiss.

Beyond. Etc. (Freaking out!)

Broken hearts. Hugs. Hugs hugs hugs.

I have a lot on my mind as we approach the end of the girls’ first year with us — all conflicting and confusing and convoluted thoughts, of course. Thoughts about breastfeeding and weaning, thoughts about the future, thoughts about our house and our families and my age. Thoughts involving teensie tiny wittle baby newborn onesies.

Shopping sure can be complicated.

I LOVE those onesies!!! I got Izabella them in brown and pink long sleeve awhile back and I share the same enthusiasm as you! Yay for growing up and new adventures!

Oh my, I’m right there with you. I had a true emotional breakdown last week when a dear friend had her first baby. My chest would hurt and I’d want to burst into tears. I’m not totally sure what exactly is the main trigger, but I know part of it is seeing the same stuff you are…walking, being little boys, sitting in chairs…ugh. It really hurts my heart.

Awwww….I know what you mean! I was just at BRU yesterday and saw the adorable, teensie, tiny, wittle, baby, newborn onesies. My 2 year old son is HUGE…and I miss the “baby” clothes! And can I just say that my daughter is almost 9 years old and never, ever did they have the cute little onesies back then, like they do now! Pink and brown is my favorite!!!I’m mad…almost mad enough to have another kids and pray hard that it’s a girl! Shopping for little girls is soooooo much fun!!!!!

Is it ridiculous that I just now realized that, wow, you have to buy two? Of everything? Crazy.

We’re coming up on the six-month mark. While the husband is sad and pines for the baby days, I’m happy that he’s big enough to do super-fun stuff, like eat sweet potatoes and ride face-first in the baby bjorn.

That said, when I see glimpses of his adult face in his features, it tears me up.

Woo Hoo!!!! I can’t wait for the next set of twin girls. :) It’s getting closer. Those shirts are going to look so good on your girls. Actually, those girls are going to look super cute in the shirts. I can’t wait to see pics of their first b-day!
