She’s a Lefty

If we didn’t already suspect it from the thumb sucking, it seems evident now: Elise is totally a lefty.
I come from a family of many lefties — I’m the only righty, actually, while my mom and older brother are lefties — so it’s fascinating to see this emerging in my first-born.
Elise purposely reached for and grabbed the toys on the Baby Einstein ocean mat (a.k.a. the Oceanic 815 mat) today for the first time. (That other first time was a fluke, we think.) It was all with her left hand.
And here she is going for the toy on her bouncy seat. Left hand again.
Althea hasn’t shown any preference one way or another. It’ll be interesting to see if they both end up lefties.

She might totally change her mind though. Kids don’t fully show preference until their old. We’re only recently starting to be sure with S.
GOD DAMN THEY ARE CUTE. Like it burns my eyeballs.
They are precious!
My husband’s mom is an identical twin and while she’s a lefty, her twin is right-handed. Mirror twins are fascinating.
I haven’t noticed if my girls have a preference yet. I’m going to pay closer attention next time they are playing.
I KNEW it! I thought she was a lefty when I saw that thumb sucking pic. I’m hoping Arlo will be a lefty and thus a more likely potential President.
We have a confirmed lefty. And there are NO lefties anywhere in the family. Figure that out!
